Like all trains, the engines on our inter-city high-speed trains need a bit of TLC now and again. To do this, we lift them out of the locomotive so that their manufacturer can make sure they’re running as safely and efficiently as possible.

While doing this, they also apply a protective coat of paint to prevent corrosion – it’s all part of the maintenance regime.

Usually, we pick a rather plain grey paint, but today we’re asking you to vote for a different colour.

Will it be yellow, pink or turquoise – you decide! Head over to our Twitter account to cast your vote: twitter.com/ScotRail/status/1153299709739642881

The winning colour will be announced next Monday (29/07/19) and the specially-painted engine will be fitted later in the year.
