Government approves EUR 163.5 million loans for Croatian railways

The Croatian government has approved the loan agreements between the companies within the national rail operator Hrvatske Zeljeznice (HZ) and the International Bank of Reconstruction and Development (IBRD). The government approved a EUR 79 million loan for HZ Infrastruktura, a EUR 41.5 million loan for HZ Cargo and a EUR 43 million loan for HZ Putnicki Prijevoz (Passenger Transport). More


Kapsch, Algerian Railways SNTF to sign Rail-Telecom jv contract

Kapsch CarrierCom and the Algerian railways operator SNTF (Société Nationale des Transports Ferroviaires) signed a contract on the joint venture Rail-Telecom. Rail-Telecom is under joint ownership of SNTF (51%) and Kapsch CarrierCom (49%) as shareholding partners. More

Siemens Vectron locomotive authorized for Czech Republic and Turkey

Trenitalia orders additional Vivalto double-deck coaches

Trenitalia has placed an EUR 98 million order for 70 Vivalto regional double-deck coaches manufactured by Finmeccanica – AnsaldoBreda. The Italian passenger operator has exercised the option included in the previous contract signed in March 2010. More


Uzbekistan Railways annual freight wagon production to triple by 2019

Bombardier awarded EUR 196 million fleet maintenance contract

Bombardier Transportation has signed a contract with National Express Group to provide maintenance for the new Essex Thameside franchise. The contract, which is for a ten-year period with the option to extend another 5 years, covers maintenance and spare parts on 74 four-car Class 357 ELECTROSTARtrains and is valued at approximately £143 million GBP (196 million euro, $213 million US). More
