Vienna orders Flexity tramways

Bombardier Transportation and the Vienna transport authority, Wiener Linien, have signed a contract for the manufacture of 119 FLEXITY Vienna trams, which includes a 24-year FlexCare maintenance management system agreement. The contract is valued at approximately 431 million euro ($480 million US) and includes an option for an additional 37 trams and further maintenance support. More

The future metro Line U5 will become the first fully automated line in Vienna, informed in a joint on 2 June, Wiener Linien, the City of Vienna and the Austrian Transport Ministry. The line is expected to start operation as early as 2023. More

Czech state-owned railway operator issues bonds worth over EUR 115.2 m to repay old debts

Czech state-owned railway operator Ceske drahy (CD) has issued bonds worth over CZK 3bn (EUR 115.2 m) in order to repay its previous debts, informs the Czech News Agency. The bonds have been issued in two tranches with 7-year and 20-year maturity and annual interest of 1.89 and 3%. More
