Railways of Moldova and Ukraine to rebuild railway line bypassing Transnistria

The first rail manufacturing plant in Kazakhstan launches production

Aktobe Rail and Section Works (ARBZ) has launched on the 16th of October the production of hardened 120-metre, R65 mark rails for high-speed railways. ARBZ was founded by Kazakhstan Railways (KTZ) in cooperation with private investors under State Program of Accelerated Industrial and Innovative Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2010-2014. EUR 100 million EBRD loan for improving public transport in Ukrainian municipalities

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has approved a EUR 100 million financing facility for public transport improvements in a number of Ukrainian municipalities.The funds will be used for the renewal of municipal rolling stock, buses, trolleybuses and trams, and the rehabilitation of the exisiting public transport infrastructure. Alstom and Indra to supply safety and security systems for Antequera-Granada High Speed Line tunnels

Alstom – Indra consortium has signed a contract with the Spanish railway infrastructure authority Adif to supply the safety and security systems for 6 tunnels of the new Antequera-Granada high speed line. The consortium will also maintain the systems for a period of 42 months. More

Moscow Metro will exceed its 5oo km of lines objective next year. According to Marat Khusnullin, Deputy Mayor for Urban Development and Construction, Moscow Metro objective to extend by 50% will be reached with the integration of the 54 km long Small Ring of the Moscow Railway scheduled to enter operations in 2016. Currently 70% of the construction project has been carried out. More


Bombardier to supply 62 TRAXX AC Locomotives to Israel Railways

Bombardier Transportation has signed a contract to provide 62 TRAXX AC locomotives to Israel Railways (ISR). Based on the list price, the new order is valued at approximately 230 million euro (262 million US). The contract also includes an option for an additional 32 locomotives. More


Ukrainska Zaliznytsia plans to purchase freight rolling stock in 2016

The 2016 financial plan of joint-stock company Ukrainska Zaliznytsia, which is currently being created, foresees the acquisition of freight rolling stock. “Now the financial plan is being drawn up and we face the issue that earlier there were 49 financial plans for all enterprises of Ukrzaliznytsia, and now one is required,” stated the Director for Reformation, Asset and Law Policy at the State Railway Administration of Ukraine (Ukrzaliznytsia) Yevhen Kravtsov in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.
