Rail Cargo Logistics Goldair, first private rail freight operator in Greece

The Greek Railway Authority for Railways (RAR) has awarded Rail Cargo Logistics Goldair a license to operate on the Greek railway network. Established in 2014, Rail Cargo Logistics Goldair is a joint venture between the Austrian Rail Cargo Logistics GmbH (49%) and Goldair Group (51%), which is one of the biggest transportation and logistics companies in Greece. Alstom increased its stake in Kazakh EKZ to 50%

Alstom and Kazakhstan Railways (KTZ) have closed the deal of Alstom’s acquisition of an additional 25% in the EKZ joint venture (JV), formed by Alstom, KTZ and Transmashholding (TMH) to produce electric locomotives in Kazakhstan. More


Hungary: Szeged – Mako tram-train line planned

Europe’s longest driverless subway in Barcelona enters operation

In Barcelona, the extension of the driverless metro Line 9 has gone into operation. The some 20-kilometer-long line connects the university in the center of the city with Terminal 1 of the El Prat de Llobregat airport. Siemens equipped the line with an automatic train control system for driverless operation. The wireless system for automated train control provides real-time data on train location and speed, increasing headway and passenger capacity. More
