London Midland tickets will be accepted on Virgin and East Midland trains until further notice. Bus replacement services are not an option due to flooding and disruption on motorways and local roads.
Heavy rain has caused several areas of the railway to flood causing problems with signalling & electrical equipment
- Rugby – Northampton – Milton Keynes
- Rugby – Milton Keynes
Other areas affected with a reduced train service, and limited road transport
- Hatton – Warwick
- Wood End – Stratford-upon-Avon
- Coseley – Wolverhampton
A London Midland spokesman said “ Please be assured we are doing everything we can to operate as many trains and buses as possible through these affected areas. Unfortunately passengers can expect disruption for the rest of the day. Once the floodwater subsides we will still be faced with trains and traincrew out of place across the network. The advice is please check your journey before you travel.”
