London Midland appoints new Head of Communications

London Midland service leaves Wilmcote for SONA 17th July 2014

London Midland has appointed Francis Thomas as its new Head of Communications. Francis took up his new position with the company on Monday 3 June and brings with him a wealth of cross-sector experience, including a decade spent with British Rail.

London Midland’s Managing Director, Patrick Verwer, said, “I’m delighted to welcome Francis to the London Midland team and look forward to working closely with him. Francis’ track-record speaks for itself and, with experience within a number of high-profile organisations, I am sure that he will be an asset to the company.”

As well as his experience in the rail industry, Francis has also held senior positions with the likes of Boots, LEGO, local and national government organisations, including helping to set up the qualifications regulator, Ofqual.

London Midland’s new Head of Communications, Francis Thomas, said, “I began my railway career on this network so the opportunity to join London Midland was one that I couldn’t turn down. Rail plays a vital role in the daily lives of millions of people and good communications is a core part of how we deliver our service.
