Services from Birmingham New Street to Lichfield Trent Valley are expected to run normally from start of service on Wednesday 17 May, following two days of disruption caused by an unexploded World War 2 bomb.
The bomb was destroyed in a controlled explosion this afternoon and Network Rail has confirmed that there was no damage caused to railway infrastructure.
Services between Birmingham and Walsall are now running normally – via Aston – and London Midland expects to start services between Birmingham New Street and Lichfield Trent Valley tomorrow in line with the normal timetable.
Customers are again reminded that, regardless of the cause, any journey delayed by thirty minutes or more qualifies for compensation. Information on how to make a claim can be found in leaflets at stations or by visiting www.londonmidland.com/
