Oxford track renewal timelapse- July 2017.(Network Rail)

Timelapse footage from our work in Oxford this summer to enable improvements in line speeds, which will ease congestion on the railway into and out of Oxford as part of a £200m upgrade programme.

More than 100 Network Rail workers put in more than 32,500 working hours to renew 2km of track between Hinksey Lakes and Oxford station from 22-31 July 2017. The work involved the use of more than 5,000 tonnes of ballast and around 2,500 sleepers.
