Easter weekend rides of 275 km / hour in the Gotthard Base Tunnel have been carried out with the Giruno. This overspeed trips are part of the test drives to ensure safe and smooth operation of trains in the timetable the market later. The journey of 275 km / h, another important milestone on the road to vehicle registration to 250 km / h.
After the roll-out of the new Gotthard train Giruno SBB on May 18 last year, the test drives have been launched immediately. To obtain the Switzerland-admission of the new Gotthard trains Stadler is currently carrying through with five trains rides and acceptance tests in Switzerland and neighboring countries. A sixth vehicle is currently being prepared at the Stadler Inbetriebsetzungszentrum in Erlen. The extensive testing required for the four-country registration of their vehicles. When planning the test drives many dependencies of consecutive journeys in the four future countries of Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Austria must be considered.

In addition to continuing the test and test runs at speeds of 200-250 km / h, the current focal point of the Giruno team is preparing the documents relating to the SBB approvals in the four countries of Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Austria.
The Giruno will leave from the timetable change in 2019 with the new Gotthard base tunnel and connect Zurich with Milan.
