The Havelländische Railway (HVLE) has ordered ten EURO DUAL locomotives, including a full-service maintenance services at Stadler in March 2017th HVLE is the launch customer for this six-axle locomotive with bi-modal drive. The powerful engines – the diesel-electric operation, up to 2,800 kW are available, electrically up to 7,000 kW – are provided for freight transport in Germany. The top speed is 120 km / h. The EURO DUAL is a versatile Co’Co’ locomotive that can be used with its versatilen drive system on electrified and non-electrified lines. This brings great flexibility in operation. Transport routes can be direct and thus more efficient because no interruptions threaten on non-electrified lines. Wherever can be driven electrically, but the total energy consumption is lowered to the level of efficient electric locomotive. Moreover, the EURO DUAL for HVLE on a shiny recycling rate: 97.71% of the components are reusable over the life cycle of the vehicle. Other technological highlights the effective adhesion control and the non-self-steering bogie for extremely low rolling contact fatigue. Stadler begins with the deliveries in 2020.
