The Supervisory Board of Czech Railways has five new members. Today approved the change at its meeting Steering Committee of the Czech Railways. He also recommended to the chairman of the supervisory board of the national carrier Professor Petr Moos, due to its expertise and professional experience.
Transport Minister Dan Tok explains the need for change:
“The new composition of the Supervisory Board should tender for all members of the Board of Directors of Czech Railways, which can of course also participate in the current management of the national carrier. We need professional managers who are well prepared for the liberalization of rail transport, to which we are bound for European railway package. By changing the Supervisory Board at the same time gradually fulfilling the government’s policy statement that Czech Railways to be managed effectively and that it must act as an apolitical entity. “
New members of the Supervisory Board of Czech Railways became Professor Petr Moos from the Faculty of Transportation Sciences, Professor Karel Pospisil from Brno University of Technology, Associate Professor Josef Kolar from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Associate Professor Luke Týfa from the Faculty of Transportation Sciences and director of the Office of the President of Deputies Jan Štrof. Nine members of the Supervisory Board of Czech Railways remain Pejša Jan Vladislav Vokoun and Antonín Leitgeb of the Railway Trade Union and transport expert Vojtech Kocourek. Professor Moose Management Committee also due to its expertise and professional experience recommended as a candidate for President of the Supervisory Board.
Czech Railways Supervisory Board approves the annual business plan including business strategies and budgets, grants prior consent to the disposal of property. The Supervisory Board also reviews the report on business activities of Czech Railways and its assets, including the report on the accounts of funds from public budgets. General Assembly then submits its observations.
Czech Railways Steering Committee, which decides on the composition of the Supervisory Board is composed of three authorized employees of the Ministry of Transport, and one government authorized employees of the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry for Regional Development.
