Subject of the Brandenburg application is the national digitization project “Content network Brandenburg”, which is unique in Germany Tourism in this form. The application with the German Tourism Prize 2018 was jointly filed by the TMB Tourism Marketing Brandenburg GmbH, eV the Tourism Association of Brandenburg and DB Regio AG, Regio Northeast, as an external partner.
In the tourist content network 450 editors work together from all travel regions of the country and maintain 1,000 bookable accommodation offers, 25,000 events and 13,000 Points of Interest (POI) annually. The result is a high and consistent quality of tourism data currently played on some 60 national, regional and local websites and apps. They are also the basis of the digital touchpoints that are currently established in tourist information, hotels and other service points in the country ( willkommen.reiseland-brandenburg.de ).
Another prominent application example for the profitable use of high-quality data is the App “DB outing” of DB Regio North East, which is on the market since July, the 2017th This uses the Brandenburg data as a basis as a pilot application and links these curated in 200 trips to the public transportation system. The app “DB trip” has already been downloaded more than 80,000 times and has won prizes in two prestigious competitions.
In October 2017 also took place for the first time nationwide taking over the POI data of another state (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern) into the content network Brandenburg, so that the travel industry now have data for the whole of Northeast Germany available.
