Commenting on the announcement of Delay Repay 15 compensation on Great Western Railway and Greater Anglia, Anthony Smith, chief executive of independent watchdog Transport Focus, said:
“The introduction of 15-minute Delay Repay compensation on Great Western Railway and Greater Anglia is a welcome step for passengers – it is something Transport Focus has pressed Government for.
“It’s now important that these two train operators actively encourage passengers to claim, making it quick, easy and automated as soon as possible. Over the coming year Transport Focus will be campaigning to ensure more passengers affected by delays or cancellations claim compensation. There is no better way for passengers to ensure the industry listens to them.”
